A few of us walked up to the Hatfield station and took the gautrain to Rosebank where we were met by one of our clients, Brenda, who wanted to show us Arts on Main which contains art and design studios in a converted warehouse surrounded by Market on Main in The Maboneng Precinct on the east side of downtown Johannesburg. It is a hub for the city’s creative community. We piled into her car and she found a place to park on the street, paying a guy standing there to watch over her car as we explored the area on foot.
This is a lively place on a Sunday morning with shops, studios, street vendors, street performers, cafes, restaurants and lots of people walking about in the sunshine.
